Did You Know That Heather: -Wrote songs for Sara Evans, Ashley Ray, The Randy Rogers’ Band, Jesse Lee, Universal South Recording artist Bailey Brown, American Idol finalist Kristy Lee Cook and most recently Terri Clark and Emma Mae Jacobs.

-Signed a publishing deal with Sony ATV.

Heather was born and raised in the North Dallas suburb of Richardson, Texas. She was constantly singing and making up songs and wrote her first song at the young age of 5 years old. "I would make up verses to songs I'd learn at school or at sunday school, and my mother could never tell which verses were the right ones."

Heather's parents played lots of 50's and 60's vinyl records in their house on weekends and in the summer time and Heather remembers singing songs from The Beach Boys to Billie Holiday. "My very first live concert was The Beach Boys and Chicago together."

Heather got a guitar as a hand-me-down gift from a new neighbor when her family moved when she was in the ninth grade. "Our next door neighbor had a bunch of instruments so he gave me this nylon string guitar that didn't have a case, and then our other neighbor taught guitar lessons, so I was set." She started taking guitar lessons every Sunday night and would practice out in the garage till she had enough chords to make a song. She had constantly been writing songs, on the back of homework assignments, and on random scratch sheets of paper, and she couldn't wait to putting those songs to music.

After completing three original songs Heather's family took a summer trip to Nashville where she played her first open mic night. " I only had one song that was truly ready so I played one original song, but the host of the writer's night was really nice and let me sing a Patty Loveless song I knew." That trip sparked a notion in Heather and she knew she had to find her way back to Nashville someday. Heather went on to form her own band while attending TCU in Fort Worth, TX. She traveled Texas and played many famed venues across the Lone Star State on weekends and was back in classes by Monday mornings. After graduating with a degree in Radio/Television/and Film, Heather focused on relocating to Nashville.

Not long after moving to Music City, Heather caught the ear of Warner Chappell Music Publishing Vice President, Dale Bobo. Dale had just taken over as Vice President of the Nashville office, and saw a unique talent in Heather. He signed her a couple of months after their initial meeting and introduced her to many veteran songwriters in town. She continued to perform within Nashville and surrounding states, building songwriting relationships and garnering cuts by artists such as Ashley Ray, Atlantic Recording artist, Jesse Lee, Universal Recording artists, The Randy Rogers band, American Idol Finalist, Kristy Lee Cook, and Jypsi, among others.

After a few years with Warner Chappell, Heather's journey as a singer/songwriter in Nashville, TN lead her to Sony ATV Publishing where she is currently a writer. Heather recently had her first Sony song cut by new up and coming duo, Jane Dear, which will be included on their 2010 debut for Warner Brothers Records. Heather continues to play out, write and perform and will be joining the Country Throwdown Tour this summer as a featured singer/songwriter on The Bluebird stages.
