  • On The Brink With Beth Brinker…Lee Brice

The Throwin' Down has officially begun. I will be bringing you exclusive hang time with country's biggest stars STARTING NOW. The first artist to get On The Brink With Beth Brinker…Lee Brice.

I met up with Lee on Music Row last week. As I parked in front of Curb Records, I smiled when I saw a huge banner across the street congratulating Lee on "Love Like Crazy" being Billboard's Most Heard Song of 2010. If you have ears, you know exactly what they are talking about. No doubt Lee Brice had a special last year…but in 2011, all bets are off. He's throwin' down on Willie Nelson.

You may not see him smiling a lot in press photos, but don't let that fool you…Lee Brice is one happy fella. We made our introductions and got right down to friendship business. "Get used to this face because you're gonna be seeing it all summer," I joked. Laughing, he said, "Well good. I like your style." And so it began. He's now part of the Throwdown family. Awwe, sweet huh?

He was so excited to talk about this summer that we got the interview out of the way first…I wanted to make sure you guys were hearing everything I was! Consider this Part One of "Brice On The Brink," because after this interview, the cameras kept rolling and we captured some funny stuff.

Follow us on Twitter and Facebook for the latest updates and I'll see you next time...On The Brink!

  • Meet Beth Brinker- Your New On The Road Reporter

Hey there! I just wanted to take a moment and introduce myself as 2011's official Country Throwdown reporter.

I’m Beth Brinker – your source for all things Country Throwdown! I’ll be bringing you all the information you need to know leading up to this summer’s outlaw tour. Then when we kick off in May, you’re going with me behind the scenes with country’s biggest stars. This year we've got Willie Nelson, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser and Lee Brice! And a second stage with Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real and Brantley Gilbert ….and I'm going to bring you front row and backstage access to it all.

Like Willie Nelson himself, I came from Texas to Tennessee. I grew up in Pasa-get-down-dena, TX (Pasadena is just south of Houston, where they filmed Urban Cowboy!) I went to college at Texas A&M, where I studied Agricultural Communications and Journalism. It was during my college days that I started interviewing country artists for radio and television and I’ve been at it ever since. I got my start working with The National FFA Organization, interviewing artists like Miranda Lambert, Jason Aldean, Clay Walker and Luke Bryan. Any FFA-ers out there? I was all about that snazzy corduroy jacket in high school and it served me well.

After graduation, I made the move to Music City to live the dream. I was a strange child when I was little, reading Dolly Parton’s biography at the lunch table and writing stories about Nashville and a red sequin dress like Reba sang about in “Fancy.” Oh how I wanted to be that girl. (I didn’t know then what she was really singing about, obviously.) I also didn’t know then that I would end up working on The Marty Stuart Show with a revolving door of legends and wearing a rhinestone jacket. What Texas girl doesn’t love sparkles?

I was living the dream, but had always wanted to see the country through the window of a tour bus. And so it came, the opportunity to hit the road with The Country Throwdown Tour last summer with GAC. The crew, the artists, the fans…it was a big happy family. And that’s where On The Brink with Beth Brinker was born. (If you missed it you can check out some of last years blogs here.) So check back here often. You will find all kinds of super exclusive videos, blogs, interviews and crazy adventures leading up to the tour and on the road. I'm getting access no one else has to these outlaws and I'm going to share it with you. Yup, just you. Because you're special. Really!

You can guarantee that this tour will be a highlight of the summer. Stay tuned to the blog for the latest news and start planning your summer around our closest stop to your city. I can't wait to meet you all.

It’s all about you guys. Who do you want to see? What do you want to know? Got a question you've been dying to ask Willie? Email ideas to [email protected] and you just might get the answer.

I’ll see you on the brink!
